Please reach us at ted@7seashome.com if you cannot find an answer to your question below.
We specialize in bathroom remodels from tile replacement to complete redo from floor to ceiling; kitchen refinishing, including cabinet refurbishing, floors, countertops, backsplashes, trim and molding, blind replacements, and more; basement finishing from block walls to livable space, sauna additions, flooring, etc. If something doesn't quite fit the descriptions above, send us an email and we'll tell you if we can do it or not.
We operate out of Eden Prairie, MN and primarily stick within a 25-mile radius, which covers many cities and towns. Drop us a line if you're in doubt of the distance.
Call our main number at 612.559.0559 or drop us an email at ted@7seashome.com to set up a call or home visit. Almost all projects will require a home visit to provide an accurate bid, take measurements, discuss materials needed, and choose from some samples of tile, flooring, etc. This visit usually takes about an hour, and you can ask several questions, and we will discuss and show you different projects we've completed to help you make the best choices. Then, we go back and draw up a written bid with contract usually within 48 hours. If you accept, we will schedule a date to begin upon receipt of a one third down payment on the project cost (this helps purchase the materials required in advance, so we are ready to roll the day we begin). Our bid will include a project timeline as well, so you know what to expect once we arrive.
In one word: Reasonable! We operate with low overhead expenses, no fancy trucks, vans, warehouses or other high-cost capital equipment. This enables us to provide a more reasonable bid on our services that generally focuses on labor time, direct pass through on materials costs, and a small admin fee to help cover insurance, fuel, design time, etc. Larger corporate outfits will include labor, materials with a mark-up, and then add a substantial margin on top to cover their higher overhead costs and profit margin. We are just a few early retired corporate guys who have been doing these projects our whole lives and get our satisfaction from making our customers happy with the finished product. We encourage you to get another bid on your project, hopefully first. Then, after you recover from the sticker shock, let us bid. Our guess is 9 out of 10 times we will be cheaper, just as good quality, and the one bid that was cheaper than us will most likely be from a handy man or someone who is in over their heads on the job.
We do! We know most of the inspectors and they trust us. We know the process, and most are moving to online services, which are easy to use. Permitting is cheaper than you think, and we will not work on a project without a required permit. As licensed contractors, we can be fined for doing so and you may have a mess on your hands when you go to sell your house without prior permitting.
We do but through licensed sub-contractors who we work well with and trust. While we know all the basics, it takes up to 5 years to become a licensed plumber for a reason. These plumbers know the codes, know the local plumbing inspectors, and both of us will sleep better at night knowing your toilet is not slowly leaking into your subfloor and making its way down your walls. If we need a plumber to move piping, etc., we will have them come to your house with us to supply us with an accurate bid for your project. We pay them as subcontractors, ensure they are licensed and insured for our benefit, and you don't have to deal with any scheduling, payment, etc.
Absolutely not! While this is becoming a trend we see in advertisements, we caution you to be aware. Typically, these are just acrylic shower surrounds with basic shower pans and no movement in plumbing required. It is a cheaper way to go, but the quality and longevity of your end product can be suspect. To properly tile a shower, the waterproofing underlayment, thinset, mortar and grout EACH take up to 24 hours to cure properly to give a long-lasting product.
We accept cash, check, credit card, or Zelle. If you use cash, check or Zelle we will automatically take off 3% of the project cost. Need a little help covering the cost? We work with financing vendors that are reliable, fast and competitive. They can cover the whole project cost giving you some extra time to pay for the project. Let us know if this option is for you.
